History

In the spring of 2000, several community organizers joined together to strengthen advocacy efforts for prevention programs in all 39 Washington state counties. This diverse group of organizers, representing large, small rural, and urban communities, blended their ideas, strengths, experience, compassion, and enthusiasm to create an organization committed to promoting the prevention of and the reduction of the effects of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs and the reduction of incidents of violence. The result is WASAVP.
